Is there any specific reason I can’t use pico from home? It works fine in Bell. I keep getting:
“Sorry, I don’t know anything about your “xterm-color” terminal.” bleeegh. I didn’t want to have to go back in to school tonight.
Change what terminal Putty (or whatever) is emulating. Might want to try VT100 or something like that. Or use vi.

Ah ok, so in Terminal, go to Preferences and then Advanced and change the “Declare terminal as”
VT100 should work, if not, try others.

junior year chemE is awful.
i refused to learn it but when you run application boxes that have a linux shell, you cant install pico/nano to edit files so you learn it. it actually makes sense once you get used to it.
scp is by far the easiest way to trasfer the files. and yeah, got future reference, inside terminal preferences, you can choose your terminal, its set to xterm-color by default, I use the standard xterm.
vi is sooooooo powerful. Dan wanna hang out and learn vi?lol such nerds oh yea, and if you are in bell hall, chances are you are using the engineering unix, not UBUNIX.
