I was looking at Dodge trucks the other day… almost all those packages look beat. The Daytona, Super Bee etc. suck. The Hemi Express was “okay” at best. I do however like the regular cab short bed w/ the Sport Apperance Group (just body colored everything, no wings/stickers/wheat).
I’m looking at one w/ the Hemi, SLT package, tow package, twankies etc. for $21k (about 11k off from the employee discount and model year close-out rebates). IBTHATTHINGGOTAHEMI
I’d like a dizzy but you’re lookin’ at $10k more (have to move up to a 3/4 or 1 ton, then the Cummins option is bank). The Hemi will tow my car on an open trailer no problem. W/ the cylinder deactivation and all it gets Diesel like mileage, at least when not towing. And even primium is cheaper than Diesel out here. Plus no RCSB Dizzy. I like the RCSB the best.
never in a million years will the “hemi” get diesel like mileage. The sticker may say so, but in the real world, you’re looking at 10-14mpg MAX for a hemi.
a diesel will last longer, get much better mileage, and add tons to resale. If you can swing the extra $$$ up front, a diesel is the only way to go
After racing my buddy’s 05 STI one night in June we stopped to bullshit in a parking lot…one of those trucks drove by revving like mad and giving us the evil eye. At the time it really pissed me off.
the wheels look cheap as fuck… the ‘daytona’ sticker was totally laughable… the exhaust sounded really bad… the wing just made me go :ugh: and take a picture so i could post it on the internet and talk shit.
Next random story: Saw a Dakota R/T at Raceway Park one night with MTs on the back. He had loud exhaust, and I figured if he’s running ET streets he must be quick. I was looking forward to seeing him run.
When he staged, he did a LONG smoky brake stand burnout. At this point I was expecting a 12 second truck…I watched the dude make a couple of mid-high 15 passes. I was pretty disappointed.
