right. targeting a crowd that they know mostly have no front plates is shitty. i would’ve been pissed if i went tonight
They were not going after those who were turning around? Interesting. Just looking for easy money I guess.
They were set up on both ends of Gunville right before the track and also on Pavement Road. Those are the only 3 entrances to DTRP.
I heard a lot of front plate, inspection, and seatbelt tickets. They were targeting the people going to the cruise. It wasn’t a random check stop, it was to inspect every car going to DTRP.
I was driving a 2010 Camaro with dealer plates and they wanted to ticket me for illegal use of dealer plate. I was cool with the sheriff and started BS’ing with him and he let me go. It was a money grab for the state, which was complete bullshit. Like I said, they were targeting our hobby.
i got an inspection ticket tonight. anyone know what this is gonna cost me? it was absolute BS. they were nitpicking about every little detail. they let the little old ladies go without even checking anything. they only stopped kids and people in nice cars. you wont see me at S&R again.
I totally agree with what they did(minus the front plate) bec there is why too much trash at that show. You should be inspected, and have a license, and a seat belt on etc.
Yeah , but they were also going for loud exhaust and tires. Everyone is hurting for money not just the state.
Sure if you are illegal with multiple items, then you deserve a ticket. But the fact that they were targeting a specific group, car people, it is going to hurt the hobby if they continue to target us. There are some people that cause the issues at that event, but it is going to ruin it for the rest of us. A lot of the people I know with classics or 20+ year old cars were getting tickets for no front plate, loud exhaust, etc. I’m sure a good amount of people on this site would get tickets for at least a few things if they were to get pulled over now.
I’m surprised nobody realized my intentions for creating this thread…

Wow thats pretty weak about the roadblocks, Im done going for this year anyway but id be pretty pissed if I got some bogus ticket.
You mean to tell me they were issuing traffic tickets to people who drive?!?!
:rant::rant::rant:
I hope it stops the scumbags from going up there. If they can’t afford to paint their car, buy lowering springs, put an exhaust on their ride… they surely can’t afford a front plate ticket.
Just curious if they had check stops once again this week. I plan on going next week for classic import week but only if its not going to be a hassle.
I had 2 other committments tonight so I didn’t make it.
this is why i dont go anymore, not worth the BS
JT btw your new sig really hurts… thanks.
small crowd tonight but yayyy no roadblocks or cops checking cars
how many cruise nights are left?
2 more if I’m not mistaken
gezz the last one will have no one…the muscle car section only had one row , and the circle was half full if that
S&R Cruise night go until September 30th.
I would go tomorrow, but the inspection is overdue on the supra and I dont feel like getting a ticket for it.
