I successfully skated all the way down the track without hitting the wall or leaving the groove.
I guess I ran the same exact time as another car… with new/better tires.
Not a jab… hehe … just showing how poorly the track actually hooked (or didn’t).
please not on wenseday…all i kept hearing was no traction at all …400hp cars running high 8s doesnt seem right. Also way to run out of gas hahahaha i heard about that but i figured by the time i went to save ya someone would have helped
On my last run I waiting to line up to make sure that I was behind a bunch of rear-wheel drive cars. There was a Camaro, a Thunderbird, and another Camaro directly ahead of me so I cut in. I figured with 3 rear-drive cars my lane would be “OK” for a good launch. Nope, lol. The problem is that 95% of the cars are just average 150-200hp street cars that don’t put down any heat when they launch, so the water and crap that gets up there just stays up there. It’s not the tracks fault, it’s the cars that are running on it.
I guess if I went there for a good time, I would have really heated up the DRs… and not just cleaned them off. And I wouldn’t have laid on it so hard in 1,2 and 3.
You can “prep” a track all you want, and run top fuel dragsters on it, but put 2 or 3 front-wheel drive cars down on it dragging water with their rear tires, and the next guy up isn’t going to get any traction.
The first time I went to NYI they weren’t sweeping the rocks in the burnout pit and it was pisssing me off, but ever since I haven’t had any issues. It is a nice track but I have had my best 60 ft times at Lancaster. When you race heads up its all about who gets to the finish, so if you come to race with street tires your not going to beat the guy with slicks or DR’s. You mind as well go home and go to bed.
