buy a kouki S14 with a good SR20 in it and STFU… not trying to sell you mine either…
buying a 13 year old FWD Volkswagen sedan with a VR6 (swapped?) from The Fail sounds like a terrible idea to me when you can buy something like i suggested that will be forever more reliable and get way skankier chicks. You also won’t need to fake a roof rack or wear skinny jeans… unless you’re as bonkers as Jlee.
This is a VR6. Your argument is invalid. At 87k I doubt that the timing chain tensioners have been done, and shit for $3k don’t do them. Just drive it till she breaks. Might be 200k anyway.
Why do you think it was swapped?
Bottom line is any clean DD with under 100k for $3k is a good deal. This one WILL be an attention whore like any VW, but if you’re cool with having to fix little things all the time then it would be a pretty comfy and fun DD for cheap.
just assuming… i don’t remember is VR6’s came in jetta’s in 1998 but i think i have my decades mixed up… also, VW’s suck and are not worth paying attention to. Except for TDI’s for daily drivers to save on gas.
Well I bought it, I’ll be flying to florida in a few weeks to drive it back. Only problem at this point is that it comes with nice new SUMMER tires on it, and I have to drive it home lol… I have a friend with 4 snows mounted on steelies and he offered to lend them to me so i could UPS them to the dealer down there and have them mounted… Any other ideas? I haven’t talked to the dealer about it yet so they may have a suggestion too.
i drove my 911 cross country on summers in the first week of march last year and my a4 on summers during a snow storm last month. yeah i know they are both awd but still if you take it slow you will be fine.
Yeah I went from a subaru to an a4 quattro to this… so i’m going to lose my AWD comfort zone. Meh, I have AAA and collision, what’s the worst that could happen AMIRITE?
Yeah i’ve heard that they are beastly in the snow from a few people now. good to know.
I got a new number and i don’t think i ever gave it to you, so you have a pm.

So the dealer contacted me after I paid the 500 bones deposit asking if i could get him the funds some other way other than paypal since it charges him 3% or something…seems kinda cheap-ish but i guess that shit would piss me off too. I personally would like to just take cash with me and pay in person, but it’s going to be 3 weeks or so before i get down there and I’d like to get the title here before then so i can get it all registered and shit before i go down…
Are bank transfers safe these days? Other options?
