Wanted: Parts list to build PC from NewEgg :)

[quote=“Schema,post:12,topic:30698"”]

RX3…

You realize this is a discussion board. As in, a place to discuss, give answers, or get answers. There’s a sub-topic here on NYSpeed called “Nerd Corner” not “Search corner”. I realize I can go elsewhere to look or ask the same questions, but so can everyone else on this board for every question ever asked. Telling every person to do a search for every question asked, whether posted here or not, car or non car related is, flippin retarded.

I don’t know what your problem is. All I said was that there are complete bullet list systems that were built by component and that they hadn’t changed in 2 or 3 months that you could compare AS WELL AS reviews of said parts after they were installed and used. So basically you would know exactly what to look up when ordering parts if you searched. Then maybe you could ask more focused questions since you would know what the hot hardware was.

God forbid you post “WANTED: PARTS LISTS” and I tell you to search for parts lists that were made as recently as 3 months ago that have all the hot components.

But whatever, I’m retarded for trying to help and practically handing you detailed info instead of the generic answers you’ve gotten here (except for 02Accord, he put up a list  )

System I built last month for $500

Ultra Dual Channel 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz- $99

Ultra PC Vent II w/ 2 45mm Fans System Exhaust BK -$9.99

18" Translucent Blue 7 Pin Serial ATA Drive Cable -$4.99

Ultra 12" Round IDE 2 Device Cable Blue UV -$6.99

Kingwin Big Air BA-12 CPU Cooler for AMD K8 -$39.99

Hitachi 320GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G -$89.99

Lite-On 20X DVDRW Super-Multi Lightscribe LH20A1H -$49.99

Mach Speed MSNV-939 Socket 939 Motherboard -$63.84

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Socket 939 CPU -$116.15

Then you can add around $100 plus or minus a few bones for a video card. I got it all at Http://www.TigerDirect.com. It’s a solid setup in my honest opinion and I really enjoy using it.

Your really going to want a good video card, good processor, and alot of quick mem… Thats basically it, everything else isnt very important. I suppose if you have cash left over, you can get a quick HD or two… But my system i detailed before is prety solid…

Awesome, thanks so much for the help!

I went through everything myself, just want to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

If anyone can spot any incompatability issues, please tell, or anything aside from the OS I may be missing. This system will total $771.

coolio… stuff looks prety dam good to me

Should make a solid comp, other than the power supply is on the meh side, and the case isnt my first choice, but solid…

Don’t fuck around with your power supply unless you like instability issues and failing components.

The good news is that you don’t have to pop for a fancy Antec or Enermax. Sparkle Powere aka Fortron aka FSP makes some of the best PS’s on the market and they’re cheap.

From the sounds of what you’re building I’d recommend something like this guy if it has the connectors you need:

This one’s got a PCI-e connector, which you probably need if you’re building a rig for 3D modeling.

It’s not bad, but it was a bad choice if you plan on doing any upgrades to it within the next 2 years. You could have gotten double the performance for the price with the core2duo. Your mobo is fine. Personally, I would never touch rosewill psu’s. FSP would have been the way to go. Apevia cases are bad for cooling. Sure it may look nice, but you could have gotten a centurion or something for $60 or less that would have been better. Vid card is fine.

meh. older technology but its alright.

fuck intel

fuck intel

Don’t be hatin’. AMD have gotten there asses kicked the last year.

yeah but one year doesnt make intel king

i was under the impression that to use sli u would need to use a nividia video card.

if ur not going sli, then why buy an sli motherboard?

you are correct. sli = nvidia crossfire = ati

Never said intel was king… just said you can get better performance for the money with intel right now, and it is easily upgradeable as intel is just better right now. Not to mention intel is having price drops on the 21st. Theres really no argument. AMD is old architecture, old technology right now. Maybe when they release their quad cores it might be different, but you have to give intel the thumbs up.
