I’ve had this watch for a few months now, but I recently purchased a new-to-me vintage watch that is coming back from service soon. I’m trying to stick to my rule of one comes, one goes.
Here’s some details:
-
Circa 1950s Benrus Pointer Date
-
17 Jewel CE 13 Movement
-
Manual Wind
-
30mm across
-
10K rolled gold plated
-
Serviced a little over a month ago by Matt (95d16turbo)
It can run up to a few minutes fast over the course of a few weeks. I spoke to Matt about this and it’s my understanding that it’s basically par for the course for a watch of it’s age. It has something to do with the balance wheel and the angles as your wrist moves.
It’s in beautiful shape for it’s age with a beautiful patina on the face.
It’s not beat by any means, but it has the wear and tear you’d expect from a watch that’s 60 years old.
Looking for $220, but I’ll listen offers. I’m more than willing to meet up in/around Kenmore if you’d like to check it out.
