never had an issue
bought mine summer of 1999
my home desktop isn’t even a pentium. it’s a gateway, celeron 366mhz. it’s ancient and it shows. but my dell laptop is p4 3.0. i just need more memory for the desktop so it’s a bit faster. but other than that, they’re both good computers.
i have tons of pc100 ram…

No, I look for facts. I have had alot of experience with this. I built computers and CCD systems for the research department here for about a year. I have been through 3 different major manufacturers and only had luck with Sony. However, I have built 5 fast pc’s for the department and not one has failed. If we buy from Dell we have to use their op sys. I dont know where I was looking for an argument. If you tell me I am wrong, then I tell you I am not. What did you expect.

ummmmm no, I have been building pc’s since freshman year HS, which will be 9 years this summer. I have been working for the university for a year. She works for an engineering company from what she said in another thread. I have experience with computers being used for engineering applications. She wants to build PCs so I am giving information based on my experience, not only building computers for over 8 years but actually building them for that specific field. I think you are the ones looking for arguments now.

You cant read, I built 5 for this department alone. I have built many computers ranging from P1/cyrix level to the latest. You have not helped her at all. All you are saying is buy a factory built pc. I provided links and information. She already said why they want to build their own. Why must you bring drama. Just give her the information she wants without you BS.
