Are you using CAD software on this? I know you work for an Engineering company. If you work with large assemblies go for a Quadro mobile vid card. It makes a big difference.
correct. But you get the software for the mac. For design that is, why do you think basicly every college that has a design program uses macs.
Nope, this is for personal use. I bought that PC awhile ago, and it was a $4K purchase.
Yeah, those quadro cards will up the cost of any computer alot.I am just going to get a low/mid level Quadro FX for the computer I am building for Challenge X. I hope it can handle my 2000 part assemblies. I wish the new dual core Athlon 64’s would come out, not that we can afford them anyways.
You are speaking of graphic design. We are talking about Engineering design in this case. No one that I know of uses mac’s for CAD. Macs suck and their commercials make me want to boycott Apple.
because of the amount of money that apple donates for schooling funds… why do you think that elementry schools all ran macs, so kids could graphically design better???

This computer is going to be used so I can dawnload all my cluib member’s pictures PRIOR to leaveing the show for the weekend. Reasoning IS its more efficiant, and I don;t have to wait while people “forget”. Plus I won;t have discs upon discs sitting at home and havto to shift thorugh them.
Second purpose is for work. I for see in the near future me doing a lot of local yet on the road stuff during my work hours. Some of the programs we run are bigger and need more requirments than my old lap top has.
I;m not so worried about total graphics, I just want to beable to see how stuff turns out when I transfer it to see if I should dump it right then or if its a keeper. My computer at home is more that enough for the enditing and so forth.
