Google uses them, and they are good. They get the site into search engines. 
yep, google crawls the site a ton. but MSN does it more… here are the stats for the past month

they’re sending bots to our site so that if you type in words like “pittsburgh”, “racing”, or “junior high drama” this site will be above others on your list of choices.
I have been logging in as a guest because my log-in isn’t working all the time. Maybe others are doing it too.
