1999 Nissan Maxima

  • I love the look of the 97-99 and 02-03 Maximas. Since I couldn’t afford the 02-03 (5.5 Gen), I went with the 4.5 Gen (99).
  • Decent performance for a bigger sedan (3.0 V6 putting out 190hp and 205tq)
  • Pretty good after market support and a big online community providing a lot of information, etc.
  • Relatively easy to maintain/work on and parts aren’t too expensive for the most part
  • I already knew the car pretty well since my brother had my 97 before I had it.
  • Decent fuel economy. I average about 20.2 MPG mixed driving with lots of WOT runs, etc.

For me it was reliability/looks over performance.

  • Its fun to drive
  • sounds great
  • has comfy seats
  • Its unique and you don’t see many of them(will be 20 years old in april)
  • parts are cheap for the most part
  • I can fix anything that breaks on it myself.
  • It has a/c and heat
  • it looks cool with the proper stance/wheel and tire combo
  • you can turbo them and make 400+ hp on a stock internal motor.
