I’m looking for an old 70’s style stereo with am/fm reciever. It doesn’t have to be high power just high quality as I want to match it to a set of B&O speakers for my living room. It will be used as a bookshelf system so I can listen to the radio upstairs.
PM me or post what you have, I’ll drive out and see what you have but if your further then 100km away, it’d be nice to have pictures taken.
Added: I’d be interested in a set of good speakers. Nothing like what your grandma has, but old audiophile full range speakers.
I might still have an old Marantz kickin around. According to my Dad it was worth quite a bit in the 70’s when he bought it.
You must be going for a retro look, you can buy a better quality amp for probably $100
Anyway, im about 2 hours North of Toronto Area.
If your interested I will send pics.
I will have to test it; there may only be a chanel working.
If you have a tube pre-amp and tube am/fm tuner, i’d use it with my carver but i’ll stick with the cheaper stuff.
Irregardless, canuckaudiomart.com is over priced. Bing, goto the hock shop across from the Pen Center (same plaza and pizza pizza) and they have McIntosh amps for 400-500 less.
Natural Sound in Kitchener has a nice selection of old gear. I don’t know for sure if they have exactly what you are looking for, but I would bet they have something.
Check out my friend Rob’s shop on Queen East called Applause, check out the baller room in the back and jerk off on some $25,000 CD players while you’re there.
I have been searching for the Energy C-7 in maple wood forever. For some reason I never pulled the trigger at Bay Bloor when they were only $999 then got discontinued.
