Any bluetooth headset will work.
Bestbuy or ultimate electronics will have good sets for about $40. Not all headsets cell ph sets pair well with the ps3.
I have used two different model Plantronics cellphone headsets without problem, if that is any help.

Meh…That would be kind of hard to hold while playing. Im guessing he would also want something with a speaker to listen to the ingame chat as well
