well theres a number of other factors that will also alter the freeze point obviously
age of the coolant
other coolants still in the system
actual (exact) % of the mix
was the system flushed with water before it ws refilled (poss water still in the system)
other additives that might have been used (stop leak, ect)
contamination in the system
system pressure at the time
but my original point still stands, extra antifreeze does NOT add extra protection after a certian point
when coolant breaks its no longer helping there for its freezing point gets closer to zero. the point i am making is that is no longer coolant its colored water. if it as a problem with stop leak (you are a complete retard if you ever purchase stop leak) you wont see a freezing problem your coolant passages would clog and cause your motor to over heat. that would not explain the frozen liquid would it? good anti freeze does not freeze in buffalo climate broken down contaminated antifreeze will. sorry i waas not specific enough for you nick
yeah, i had just topped it off about a 1/4 gallon of advanced auto cheap antifreeze. the old shit was probably shot. my fault

kid i work with has a motor around 80k i think with a 5speed trans. out of a 99 i think. he lives in ransomville its just sitting in his garage the truck was totaled and he was using the truck for parts. if your interested let me know.
