no pete, how is a datalogging cable going to give him acurate info about hsi AFR’s without a WB02?

Narrowbands are a general idea but would you trust your car with just a narrowband if it was modified way out of its realm when it came from the factory?

If his car was a stock turbo car to begin with id say its not as big of a deal becayse the ecu could at least compensate somewhat… but

A datalogging cable wouldn’t tell you anything about A/F ratios on a narrowband ECU car. He needs a gauge for the WB02.

this is true. Even stock the ecu doesn’t recognize O2 sensors for WOT fuel calibration. The signal is too narrow and only useful for idle and part throttle low load AFR monitoring. Pete… you should know this! You got spoiled with your Audi/VW with WBO2 from the factory.

i’m no tuner by any means but to say that if he he doesn’t have an AF guage a data logging cable is useless? come on now.

im not sure i understand your logic, the GT series turbos arent just meant to make huge power, they are meant to be more responsive, spool up faster, and recover faster during shifts, why would you not want that in a daily driver. huge power drag cars spool time isnt as huge of a factor as they are always in the upper rpm powerband, so in reality it is most useful on daily drivers.

the GT30xx’s are used all the time in road race applications, of course not on the drag strip, they are fairly small compared to most of the size limitations of turbo classes.
