alright heres the story, i picked up my 97 tsi last week and i was told from the previous owner that that he had upgraded to 450cc black top injectors in it.The car is pretty much bone stock , therefor the larger unnecessary injectors would prob be the reason why my car is getting around 10-12 mpg.Im trying to find some stock injectors from a tsi which i believe are 380cc’s.The car is obviously running rich and burning way more fuel than it should be.

So i also have a question, do i need anything else like fuel modules or something? Sorry this is kind of a wtb/ question thread .As you can tell im very very new to the dsm world.

ill gladly straight trade my 450cc injectors for some stock ones if you help me swap them in correctly.

i have some 390’s and im looking for some bigger injectors for my car

alright i just found out from the previous owner the car has 450 black top injectors and not 550’s in it.Stock it came with 380cc injectors? so i guess thats what im looking for , sorry for any confusion.

It had in from what i was told 380cc injectors from an auto 1g, 2 out of 4 where bad so they were replaced with 2g blacktops

cant u put an afc and a tune on it and be better off in the long run if u chosse to add to the car?

yea i can but for now the car is staying stock for a while and id rather have it all be stock lol.I dont have the time or money to tune it at the moment with Christmas coming up and shit.

I have stock 3000GT VR4 injectors with about 60k miles on them if you’re interested.

can’t you just order stock injectors from any regular parts store or the stealership ?

im trying to see if anyone on here has any before i go buying new injectors @ 64$ a pop.Im just trying to figure out if anyone has any stock tsi injectors and what size they are.

im obviously not trying to make any money off of this, i just want the gas millage back. These 450’s are not necessary for a stock tsi.Im just trying to get stock injectors back in the car and be done with it.So if anyone knows the stock injector size for a 97 tsi that would be awesome lol

i think the correct ones are in it…it must of had auto injectors instead of manual

Non-turbo 4g63-n240h injectors-240cc high impediance
turbo 4g63- auto trans.- 390 cc low impediance
turbo 4g63- manual trans.-450 cc low impediance
2g black tops-turbo- 450 cc low impediance

hmm alright that makes sense then i need to figure out where this 10 mpg is coming from.any one have any ideas??

Lol alright this thread turned into a huge mess of mixted info. I guess the injectors are the correct size. I now need to figure out why the car is getting such terrible gas millage.

Do NOT put anything lower than what the stock injectors are.

Do you have an AT or manual? To me it sounds like you have an auto. You say it’s bone stock…Has it always been bone stock, or did someone put it back to stock to sell it?
