this is why I keep everything in the hatch… anything they can see from a window or in the car is open for debate… but if its in your hatch/ trunk and not visible then they need a warrent… also… if you really dont want them seeing something, keep a big padded envelope with you… have it addressed to yourself… if you get pulled over shove whatever you want in it and seal it… they cant touch it without court order since its a fed offence to open someone elses mail

So whats going on with this SON case. R33 did you talk to the owner of the Rx-7? Coupes are rare, if the owner of the RX-7 can confirm it was a coupe then, I’d understand why the cops pulled you over, especially since the first few letters match those on your licence plate. What I don’t understand is that you say you got stopped on a sunday night and Hector said this occured on saturday night when the thieves got caught, so why would the cops go after you the next day? It’s something you can use to say to the staff sgt at the division. It might just help you get your BOV back.

Man I’m sorry that happened bro, there is some truth in the “race card” but I’m a bit of an ignorant a-hole when it come to this like this so I’ll give you some insight. 1st of all, filing a complain ill get you so far, some cops will write some shit down and throw it out when you leave, you have no assurance that something will be done. Well, you got your BOV back so I guess it did work.
I would do something about it. Although you car matches the description, it doesn’t justify his action for taking way your personal belongings. Also, putting you/ incarcerating you in the backsquad car I believe is false imprisonment. I would definately complain, find out a way to get your money back for tht BOV man.
- In regards to being searched, the reason of your car matching a description does not justify their reason to search your vehicle.
- If your car matches a decription, then it does…there’s nothing inside the vehicle that you should lead to the confirmation of the “stunting” car description: it doesnt make sense.
-You must have to make it clear by saying to them “I do not give consent to my car being searched”. Also, when they ask you to come out of the car, close the door and lock it behind you. It reinforces your position to not having your car searched.
Lastly, they should also have had a warrant, because there are many 240 owners in your area and quite frankly, searching you car will do nothing for them to identify who was stunting in the car lot.
The hardest part of all this in how the officer reacts to it. You’ll have some that pretty much cave, or will try and bring some false rule into the discussion (they are told to use lies as a means/way to find the truth), and you have the ones that will get physical with you. And when it gets that far… that’s when I would take it to court, because you have more leverage to get that officer in shit (bad/misuse of authority) as well as getting you money/property back.
