Where Can I convert Canadian currency to American dollars without a fee?

i bank at evans and they didnt charge me a fee 5 years ago

but that prob has changed by now

i wonder if MTB will wave the fee for employees

Put it under your pillow. If they screw up our economy anymore it might be worth more than the american dollar soon.

lol its sad but true, iv had it for months now. i have this jar that i put all my spare change and random dollar bills in and out of the 5 or 6 times i cashed it in, all i had left was a handful of canadian change and these 2 canadian $5.

The Casino, Ft. Erie Race Track, Maybe the Racino in hamburg (not sure on that one)

No.

You will not be able to exchange w/o a fee anywhere AFAIK. Everyone, at the least, has a premium built into their exchange rate. It’s usually pretty significant too as the rate is normally set in the morning and any rate that is set has to protect the bank against market fluctuations during the day. The only way I know of the get close to a “live” rate is to have an account with a bank and be exchanging large sums of money.

IMO you should just hold on to it for the next time you visit Canada. If it’s only $10 and you really can’t hold on to it, take the hit and don’t complain.

This is called the bid/ask spread and is unavoidable.

if you really wanna get rid of it that bad the mall has a currency exchange, go there next time you work
