1987 Mazda Rx7 GXL

Asking 2k with headunit & speakers still in car, 1600 without obo.

Going to buy a new car so i’m going to let this one go for what i paid for it, this doesn’t include the parts i put into it.

Single owner car for 20 years, i am the second owner. Its from Tennessee so there is 0 rust.

Interior is almost immaculate, a few cracks on the mirror triangles but that’s it, complete S5 interior trim swap (its a rubber coated deal, no more brittle plastic)
New dashboard, the old one was cracked to shit from the TN sun.

brand new PS pressure line
brand new starter
brand new plugs
brand new plug wires
brand new battery
brand new clutch slave cyl on the way.

Headunit is a clarion vx400,
Speakers are alpine type s all around, mids tweeters, and crossovers
Has iPhone / iPod support & comes with wire
Upgraded the alternator to a GM Cs130 140amp, if you’ve ever owned an FC you should know how shitty the stock alt is.

GXL Trim:
to name a few features off the top of my head…
power steering
power sunroof
AAS electronic auto adjusting suspension with soft / stiff setting option
rear hatch wiper
premium velor upholstery, no rips or tears anywhere!
4piston caliper brakes upfront, 2piston rear
Clutch type LSD

Engine runs fine, to my knowledge the motor was rebuilt not to long ago, i don’t have the paperwork though however it runs very strong.

The bad:
Paints clear coat is fading & peeling
U joints on the drive shaft are going
Clutch slave cylinder just went out - new one is in the mail and on its way

It passed NYS inspection, there is nothing wrong with the car horn was intermittent for a while but i fixed the bad ground.

It was originally tornado silver, but sometime during it’s life it was repainted a cream / champagne pearl

You have no idea how illogically drawn I am to this little guy. What does it need besides the slave?

Drive shaft U-joints, paint, i’m going to be replacing the fuel filter when it gets here too

Oh and an idiot light bezel, i’ve been trying to find one for 5 months now, nobody has a red one which isnt cracked to shit.

well i just bought new coilpacks for it, they should be here next week if its not gone by then and your in the area you can still test drive it.

Well I got the cunt started. Ended up having to use a teaspoon of ATF fluid in the motor, someone helped me out on rx7 club. Biggest cloud of white smoke I’ve ever seen, neighbors were bitching so bad lol…

I’m still looking like I may be in Tuffalo this weekend. I’d like to take a look at it if I can, but I’ll have to get after you on that as I’ll be running around a lot.

What did the teaspoon of ATF do for the engine?

:edit, n/m, found that it unfloods the engine.

Does 2 things, lubricates the Apex seals and helps absorb extra fuel laying around inside also helps to create a seal since I cleaned all of the gas/oil mix out of the housings. Second thing It does is help clean out some carbon. It’s not recommended for a cure all as it could potentially eat the water / oil seals if you leave it in the engine for an extended period of time (over 24hrs etc)

It’s mostly for extreme flooding situations like the one I had, it’s because I kept stalling in first when my clutch wouldn’t release during the cars 3k startup warming process
