1991 180sx Ball joint

the front left ball joint is popping like mad. DOes nayone know how much it would cost to replace or does anyone have used parts?

54501-65F00 nissan part number approx 280.00 a side IIRC

for 280 you prolly get the entire lower control arm. at partsource you can usually get a ball joint for like, $40 - $60 or something like that. its a bit of work to replace yourself. when i replace tie rods, ball joints, any OEM suspension parts, i always buy TSW brand. they are lifetime warranty, and are fairly cheap.

this is speaking from personal experience with my B13 and B14. for S13 it may not be the case.

Wow Nis240. 2 front lower control arms for 125CDN thats sick

ya thats one hell of a price!

just picked a pair up form pdm and should be here tomz i let you guys know how they are . also shouldnt the control arm be the same for a 240sx and a 180sx?

ya the LCA’s are the same for all s13 chassis.
and the part number i gave was for left side LCA with ball joint from nissan.

Thanks for all your help guys!

I went to go order the parts today and there not on pdm racing anymore… :frowning:

the control arms form pdm look pretty solid so it was a good buy .

sick im gonna order mine right now lol.

Would it be ok to just replace the one balljoint on the left side?

you could but if your getting both might as well replace both sides cause you should get an alinement after doing this but this guide should help 2 .http://www.pdm-racing.com/installs/installs_FLCA.html and dont forget to fill the ball joint with grease

If I had a shop to replace it I would do it myself… But unfortunately I have no option but to take it to speedTech or AutoDream. Does anyone have a garage that would be willing to help? I’ll buy a flat of beer lol

i have 180sx s13 LCA ball joints. switched to s14 5 lug so they are not needed. you can have both for 10 dolla. if you want to pay for shipping

I’ve installed the PDM LCAs with ball joints. They kick ass. PDM ftw

The install is a huge bitch if you’ve never done this repair before. If you have ABS, like me, and want to keep it, like me, make sure you either remove the sensor or very very securely make sure the brakes are tied up so the ABS cable dosen’t snap. They’re freakin’ expensive from Nissan and hard to find at the wreckers!

PS make sure you have great pickle fork skills for separating your old ballpoint. This was by far the most difficult step, mostly because it was the first time I did it.
