I purchased this Buffalo Blue truck from a close family friend to do a couple of truck only things over past few months; pick up an engine for another vehicle, carry kegs for my wedding, and tailgating prior to watching the Bills beat the Packers in dramatic fashion. Those needs are now done and I already have acquired my next vehicle, so I have no more need for this fine automobile. It has both its up and down sides. I’m asking $1500 to facilitate a faster sale and to get you set up to DOMINATE the winter with this 4x4.
The current inspection is good till July 2015.
The upsides are the many more major things that are known to fail with this vehicle that have already been replaced. The manifolds are known to rust out. Those have been replaced with a set of long tube headers. The gas tank and filler hose are known to rot as well. Those have also been replaced. The rear axle cover and the transmission cooler lines have been replaced. The vehicle has been tuned up with new pcv valve, spark plugs, wires, and had the coolant flushed and changed. In addition, it comes equipped with an engine coolant heater so you need not waste fuel while warming it up in the winter. Once fully warmed up, the heat blows really hot. That said, it does have its problems, too. The tire valves leak so air must be added to the tires about once a week. I’ve temporarily fixed this with some rtv and zip ties which has pretty much resolved the issue for now. Rust is a problem with it. The rockers, tailgate and rear fenders have rust issues. The tailgate hinge needs to be rebolted on. The frame is fine, though. The passenger’s side running board needs to be reattached. The exhaust is relatively quiet because sections of it have been cut off and replaced with flex-pipe. This will eventually need to be corrected. The evap line from the tank to the engine has deteriorated and is blocked off (this will cause the MIL to turn on, but it is the only thing that sets off the MIL). There are probably other things wrong with the car that I have failed to notice or report. But the car has proved to be reliable, only failing to start when my 8 year old battery gave up, but duh. This vehicle should serve as an awesome winter vehicle with its 4x4 option and a high ground clearance.
