98 F-250 5.4 auto 4x4

This is sold. Got $1800 for it.

My dad just bought an 07 F150 so I am putting his old truck up for sale. He has owned it since 2004, got it with 49k miles. It has never been plowed with but two days a week from early spring till the snow starts falling he has used this thing the way it was made to be used. He does mowing/landscaping as a side business so this truck hasn’t been treated the way 99.99% of trucks on the road are, it has seen work. My dad is a very good mechanic so we’ve tried to keep up on everything it has needed mechanically. Not too long ago I helped a friend build a patio with 16” pavers and we used this to haul 2 yards of crusher run stone in the bed. Have also used it to carry pallets of pavers.

98 F-250 This truck has the F-150 body that came out in 97. It is considered a light duty ¾ ton. It has an independent front suspension with CV joint half shafts instead of a solid front axle. In 99 all F-250s became super duty’s with solid front axles. Sometimes they are called 7700 series trucks because they have 7 lugs.

5.4 2v triton V8 engine
Auto
XLT trim
119k miles
4x4 has 4 low, I believe these have vacuum lock hubs, 4wd works great
Runs and shifts great

Power windows
Power door locks
Power mirrors
Cruise
AC (AC doesn’t work, lost charge and we never recharged it)
Sliding rear window
AM/FM radio – Sports radio is all my dad needs
Bedliner
7 prong tow package with permanent receiver – believe it is a 2” ball
-you will not get this receiver out without removing the hitch itself. I tried a torch and sledgehammer, and strapping it to a tree and going. It is a very heavy duty hitch, and acts as full time rear end collision protection.

Maintenance
-Oil/filter always changed every 3k miles – conventional
-Moog lower ball joints around 55k
-Battery, alternator, serpentine belt done around 80k
-Some PCV vacuum lines changed 80k
-Front sway bar end links 80k
-Fuel filter around 90k
-New driver door hinge 105k
-265/75R16 tires 105k – these are just standard load tires, we always ran 10 ply E loads and there was a mix up with my tire guy so he gave me a great deal on these new
-New OEM gas tank, straps, and pressure sensor done by dealer because of a tank strap recall 110k
-Spark plugs 110k - pain in these trucks, good for another 100k
-Upper CA’s which include new ball joints and bushings 115k
-Passenger outer tie rod 115k
-Front brake pads 115k
-Filler Neck from southern truck 118k
-U Joint 118k (car only has the rear one since it has half shafts in the front)
-Coil Pack 118k not sure which one but it got a bad misfire recently and this cured it
-Brake lines – several changed throughout the trucks life
-Exhaust – just had a new cat back put on but it does still leak some. This car has had many exhausts throughout its life, never had something go through so many. The driver side flange on the manifold was repaired once as well.
-O2 sensors – most have been replaced throughout its life

Issues
-The biggest one is the rust
-Has a CEL but was inspected in March – This truck gets CELs, it never fails, we fix whatever it needs, get it inspected and it gets another one. Last one was for the coil pack, then right before that the filler neck, usually been an O2 sensor, also had the PCV leak around 80k. Never been anything expensive. Not sure what the code is right now.
-Driver mirror is cracked and passenger mirror came apart from the backing that makes it move, not cracked but it droops down and faces the ground
-AC does not work

It’s not the prettiest but it is a great work truck with a detailed maintenance record

I will get pics tomorrow most likely, it is dark blue with silver along the bottom and silver finder flares. It really was an awesome looking truck when he got it

It is located in Hamburg and will be sitting on South Park Ave with a for sale sign since he’ll be driving his new one, come test drive anytime

Great seller!

Also, the truck got new front sway bar end links at 80k, the fuel filter was changed around 90k, and had a brand new OEM gas tank, tank straps, and pressure sensor put in by the dealer last summer at 110k because of a gas tank strap recall. Plus my dad did the passenger outer tie rod at 115k when he did the front brake pads and upper control arms.

This thing does great burnouts too, unless you really tighten up the rear drum brakes. Sure tight brakes are nice for towing but what really matters?
