FS: 1987 Ford F-250

Well, I decided to sell “Old Reliable”
It’s a 1987 Ford F-250. 300 cu.in. fuel injected straight 6, 4 speed, 3.55’s, 171K, 90K on engine, bedliner, tonneau cover, hitch, trailer brake controller, dual tanks, runs and drives awesome. I actually drove it down to Baltimore, MD this past spring, never skipped a beat and got 15 mpg.
New in the last 10K miles: Clutch, water pump, starter, battery, alternator, front rotors and pads, rear shocks, steering box, master tie rod, rear fuel tank, and just recently a full tuneup.
I’ve owned the truck since it had 11,000 miles on it. Most of the miles are all highway. The only real towing it’s done was when I owned my racecar. I would tow the car 6 miles to the track 10 times a summer. I’ve gotten into heavier towing since then and it was too much for this truck so I bought an F-350 to tow with. Having 2 trucks seemed dumb, so I’m replaced both Fords with a Dodge diesel. I really hate to see this thing go just because it runs so good. Issues: The rear fuel tank gauge sender is messed up, it always says full. I’d just go off the odometer. It could probably use a set of fuel injectors. If the truck sits for awhile the injectors bleed the fuel out of the rail into the plenum. When you start the truck it makes a puff of black smoke and runs a bit rough for about 30 seconds. It’s been this way for a couple years, it hasn’t bothered me enough to do anything about it. The truck is covered in stone chips. You can see them in the pics. It really needs a paint job as a result. The rust you see around the wheelwells is just surface rust from road grit “sandblasting” the paint off. The only rust through is on the right rear on the wheel arch and behind the wheel. Both spots are smaller than the tip of my little finger. There is also a small rust through on the hood on the driver side. A couple metal patches and some paint, this thing would look pretty good. I have the 2 hubcaps for the right side of the truck, but the retaining rings are rusted out. If you are creative you might be able to figure out some way to fix them.
I’m asking $2000 or offer. 716-913-5924. Give me a yell if you want to come out and see it or take it for a drive. The truck is located in Colden, NY.

Bump! Who needs a winter behemoth? I actually just had this thing back on the road for a couple weeks while I worked on my diesel. Ran great, ready to go…

these are great running trucks, 2 tanks ftw, also tow good for their size
glws

Still got it. I’m sure someone needs a good running affordable truck. Open to offers

whats the asking price to now?

I might need somthing like this…

whats the towing capacity on this beast?

As far as asking price goes, I’m open to offers…but I’d really like to get $1600 out of it. It really is a decent truck.

Towing capacity I’m not sure of. I’ll have to check that out. It is a 3/4 ton truck so it’s pretty substantial. I dragged the racecar and trailer around with the bed full of racing equipment with relatively litte effort.

If you have any questions call me at 716-913-5924
Thanks
