2 computer issues.

1.) I have a tablet that I bought for my father that has a legit copy of office 2003 on it but none of the documentation to go along with it. Is there something that can get that key back?

2.) I want to reformat my laptop(DELL) with a OEM copy of Windows XP Media Center because I don’t want all the Dell Crap that goes along with it. Can I use any xp mc disc and the key on the laptop? If I can’t how do I know which one I can use?

if it is still installed, there is something called belarc advisor that you can download. I know it pulls a lot of different keys from windows, perhaps that one will show up as well!

you can use the xp MC disk with no problems. just use the key that came with it.
Afterwards, go to support.dell.com to get the drivers and utilities for your dell.

If the dell laptop didnt come with MCE already, you may be missing some stuff after the install. All of the FN buttons and whatnot… they are a download called QuickSet from dells website, but I am not sure if they all support MCE. I guess you’ll find out

  1. http://www.skaro.net/cd-keyreader/index.html

  2. use any xp media center disc and make sure you install the updates.

Awesome thanks. I wasn’t sure if any Media center would work because I had issues installing xp pro or home and it didn’t like the key.
