2 weekends, 2 motor swaps...

Last weekend I replaced the motor in my buddy’s MR2-Spyder for him. Just stock 1ZZ for stock 1ZZ. He bought the car and the motor went south on him (poor previous rebuild). So I took the job on as a pitty thing, man what a bitch. But it’s all buttoned up and running good.

Then we pulled the motor/tranny out my buddy’s fully CA legal LS1->FD RX7 and dumped in another LS1/T56 he picked up that already had heads/cam/clutch etc. this weekend. H/C LS1 in a RX7 is fun, let me tell you! I was surprised everything fit pretty well, I’d even say it was probably less of a PITA to swap that motor/tranny than any LS1 Fbody I’ve done.

Anyway, I think I need to start charging for this shit. :booty:

build me a FD-LS1. By the time you’re done I’ll have the money for it.

I have a line on a clean FD roller. Was a big single turbo car that blew the motor (imagine that). Fresh paint, coil overs, big brake kit etc. $5k. $15k total budget including roller, LS1/T56, swap stuff and all the misc BS I’d need I could have an AMAZING car.
