this is more of a testing thread just to see if there is any interest worth it for me to keep a clean title on the car. Ins co says the decision deadline is 2pm tomorrow so if anybody wants it better paypal me a deposit right quick or some shit cause otherwise its gone
Vehicle was involved in a light collision @ driver side front corner last week. Front end is shifted over approx. 1/2" @ front of hood where it meets the front corners of the fenders. All other body seams are straight. Other than that needs a front bumper cover, dr headlight & corner light. Not much else wrong with the car aside from a small dent in the dr qtr right behind the rear door, the a/c needs charged, and the hinge for the center console lid is broken. Good news is that it got a new slave cyl (throwout bearing), clutch and 4 wheel alignment less than 2k ago
I would hang onto it & do the work myself but already have too many cars/projects and nowhere to keep this. Plus my gf already has her eye on a mini so we would have no more use for this one anyways
sorry forgot to get some shots of interior but it’s pretty much mint, just needs a cleaning
also forgot to mention the car has been upgraded with oem LS2 (V6 model) alloy wheels instead of the stock 4cyl steelies
mileage is approx. 130kish
located in buffalo, the car is currently at Jim Mazz auto on Bailey ave south of William St
car is driveable, as you can see from the pics it’s mostly just ugly from the cosmetic damage other than the front being shifted over a little bit. I’m actually planning on driving it to wherever I can find a spot to keep it for a few more days till someone takes it
so did the insurence company say that there is actual frame/structural damage? very interested in this as im in need of a beater car while my car goes away for the winter.
obviously yes the frame is involved, any time the entire front structure is shifted the rails invariably go with it. However, as I said and as you can see from the pics the shift is minimal and can easily be pulled back inline. Both rails are bent slightly but no kinks or crumples anywhere. Thats why I’m considering keeping it and doing it myself provided I can find a place to store it in the meantime
keep in mind the damage is the reason you’d be getting a $4-5k car for $800
I know… and knowing that I can’t just give it away to the ins co. At this point I guess I’ll be keeping it and doing the repair unless someone takes it
it’s really just the way it was hit, right on the front corner of the bumper more from the side than dead on which shoved the bumper to the side which took the rest of the front structure with it. It’s not like the car is junk just because there IS frame damage, it’s just a matter of how much everything is out of spec and what it will take to get it back in
It may be able to be test driven as soon as tomorrow, I still have to get it back to the house. I’ll lyk
might have to take you up on that
we still have to decide whether it will be more worth it to part it out or just fix it, if we end up parting it the motor is yours. Whats your offer on that? You want just the engine or entire swap?
