I’m finally starting to look for my next daily and will start testing the waters on this truck. The truck definitely has some miles on it but was very well maintained, and is extremely reliable. I still drive it every day, in fact just put one close to 1,000 miles in the last week without a single issue. Here is the break down:
2002 GMC Yukon Denali 4x4
~254,000 miles!!
-Oil changed every 3000 miles
-Newly rebuilt transmission - around 2,000 miles and 4 months on it, with a 3 year warranty from Northeast Transmissions
-Newer exhaust behind catalytic converters, around 1-2 years old
-New front pads and rotors, not even installed
-New fuel pump assembly, <1 year old
-(4) New air-ride shocks and compressor (very expensive), <2 years old
-New plugs, rear end fluids, wires, etc at 200,000 miles
-New exhaust manifolds & bolts at around 200,000 miles
-New alternator around 2 years ago
-Tires have a ton of life left on them
-Current wheels are OEM off the newer generation Denali
-Will also throw in original OEM wheels with used tires mounted
Other items:
-Leather (driver seat worn near door as usual)
-Sun roof
-Will leave in JL 12" sub
-6CD changer
-remote start
-towing brake system (I towed my Camaro in an enclosed trailer with this truck without issue on the old transmission, and on the old air-ride parts)
-I’ll update as I remember stuff
The bad:
While mechanically it currently runs like a beast, with the miles obviously comes some cosmetic faults. The truck was painted at our place about 3 years ago, but the rust is starting catch up with it. It’s not horrible, but it’s definitely there…
-Rust in wheel wells
-Rust in door window corners
-Various paint chips and/or flaking
-Recent dent/paint chip in passenger door from some idiot at walmart
-Recently gave a love tap to a deer (deer got up and ran away), but that put 2 small creases in the hood, which cracked the paint and has formed rust. It also knocked the bumper down a bit. With a little bit of effort, the brackets can be bent back and straightened out. It also cracked the grille, and bent the headlight positioning.
-SES light it on. IT GOES OFF WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL IS LOW, EVERY TIME. It has been on for about 2 years, claiming “lean bank 1, lean bank 2”. It is not lean! We threw a bunch of typical parts at it, nothing permanently fixed it. Regardless, the truck runs fantastic, and it DOES pass inspection when the fuel level is low. I’ve legally inspected it twice with this issue.
I originally wanted to run this truck into the 300’s (300,000+ miles), and I believe it will still do it, I just want to get something new(er). It’s still very reliable and I won’t sell it unless I get what I’m asking for, which is the fair KBB asking price.
Price: $6,000 obo cash, NO TRADES! No Conditions. Don’t bother asking. Keep in mind that I do not currently have a replacement vehicle, and will need to have one lined up before I release this vehicle.
