Reliable
I average about 25-28 MPG
I had a shop give it an inspection with out actually inspecting it
I was told everything is good and will pass
Has two rust areas, one on the drivers front fender and another on the drivers rear fender
ABS does not work, but from what I hear Subaru does not make the best ABS system and is not required for a NYS inspection
Engine has the common Subaru tick, that has no effect on performance or reliability just a little noisy
Drips a little oil here and there
Passenger seat is stained
It’s in Lockport
$3600
$2600 one of the brake lines under the hood just popped otherwise solid cheap transportation
brake lines fixed, ditched the abs pump
what about some of the common “subie” engine issues… like the head gasket (also timing belt)? Have they been addressed in the past that you know of?
As far as I know it has original head gaskets it does not overheat or have that oily soot in the overflow tank. I bought it at 200k and I assume the timing has been changed once and would not be due til I think 230k. It does have the common tick that half of the Subarus I have been around have.
$2200 will need front pads
If the timing belt was done once at the recommended interval at 105k, then the car is past due for the 2nd timing belt.
I thought that was for the 2.2 and the 2.5 sohc was extended to 115k, either way I still believe $2200 is still more than fair.
if this is still around by this week end… might stop in to check this out in person… some brake work doesn’t scare me, its just the mileage but that i figure is why its @ $2200 right now
