the wife wants to get into something faster and less toaster shaped
04 Honda Element EX
AWD
117k (this will go up as its her daily driver)
Auto
we bought this around 3 years ago with 78k on it from west herr honda. since then, it has been to vermont multiple times, wilmington NC, and lake placid a bunch. i would drive this car anywhere, its been nothing but great to us. its very comfortable to sleep in as well, big e will vouch also about how it can fit a giant sleeping man.
spam 16v did the 90k maintenance last year, thats the big one, it should be good for a while. tires have a lot of life left. doesnt leak or burn anything. its been really well maintained.
Trades considered - WRX Wagon, E46 XI, something fun and sporty and not a hack job
KBB in Good condition is $8600, lets start around $7500
My 05 EX fetched $7k trade with a caved in back door, 120k miles, a huge dent in the hood, and rust starting. Tell anyone who lowballs to die in a fire.
Yeah, the last few people I know who’ve traded cars in have got as much or more than they would have got selling them privately. It never used to be that way, but in today’s market… It’s worth looking into at least.
I recently picked up a newer CRV EX-L for the wife, and inherited this… I have my Si for summer but im always looking around. Kind of redundant to have 2 mid-sized AWD Honda SUV’s…
would you be interested in it? something luxurious to trade? I like 3 and 5 series bmws. I also like TL’s and TSX’s. I like VW’s as well. must be 4 door, manual preferred but not necessary
update-
now has around 155k.
I have changed the oil religiously in this car, every 3k no exceptions
Andy walker recently replaced all 4 sway bar links and both the auto trans and rear diff fluids
will have brand new pads all around (theyre due, im just lazy and haven’t been driving it much)
Exhaust sounds like the flex pipe has a tear in it. its quiet at idle but when you step on it it gets noisy.
AC currently does not work, there was a leak in one of the lines. ive been meaning to get it fixed but again… haven’t been driving it much.
has a remote start for those cold winter days. brand new batteries in the remote starter!!! (car also has a 6 month old battery…)
no cel, reliable as hell. I would drive it anywhere anytime.
kbb in fair to good is $4500 - $5K
if not, its a great winter car. NBD if I keep it. figure id just see if there is anything worthwhile out there.
