We used to be a solely Ford family. Grew up that way, my grandfather worked at the stamping plant.
That said, boxxa’s input sounds more biased against Ford than being representative of the whole. I just recently got away from Ford for two reasons. A. They are getting very expensive and B. No more Z plan. Other than that, my multiple mustangs, including a GT500, a Crown Vic and an Edge equated to zero problems.
If you ever are in the market for another Ford don’t let the no Z-plan scare you off. My past 3 fords were all invoice price not a penny over (Raptor, 14 Explorer and another F150). We use to use x-plan discounts which save a little here and there, invoice price Saved me ~6k on my current truck.
I know a few dealerships that would rather sell quantity over squeezing every last penny out of each car. One dealer has done over 100 Raptors at invoice…
Ford will never get rid of a v8, the 2018 MO 5.0 update will be pretty crazy. And the GT’s 3.5 base engine is not even close to the current 3.5 ecoboost, let alone all of the other hardware
My guess is they need to produce X number of units to compete as a production car. So they know the supply and they estimate the demand is high enough to command that price.
I am pretty sure these are being hand built in CAN by Multimatic.
