3 goons try to build a K-series

Yeah, I heard it was going to be cammed but not til winter. It’s not going to rev very high without modding something (oil pump/head). They used the type-s pump with the a2 pan, modded the pump to fit the 2.4L block.

VERY unorganized, careless work too. Idk, I really don’t care, not my car.
My car was done right and with care/quality work and runs awesome…all I care about :thumbup

The rod stroke on those k24’s are way too long to be taken that high on a stock bottom end no matter what oul pump you have. I wish them the best of luck

Word your shit does scoot out. Too bad my cars heavy but hopefully i can use some grad money to get something going. Started looking for kpro again lol

:ninja edit :
yeah, 2.4L will not rev to 8500 stock bottom end, I mean if that’s what it’s gonna do when they get it going then…

:number1

seems like he’s basing how high it can rev simply on what the head can take and not considering restrictions the 2.4 block adds. and again idk about the oil issue but it seems logical (with the pump)

oh and 100.000% of grad money going into the bank and not being spent on my car ftmfw :lol

type-s pumps are known/proven to starve at high rpms(8500+). My limiter is at 8600, but I shift at 8200-8300.

The pump is necessary however without a built bottom end its an idiotic idea. The only cams i would put in that car are brian crower cams which are built for midrange power. Peaky cams are meant for high revving motors like joeys not a k24a2.

It can be revved that high kramer but its like the PR’s revving their stock GSR blocks to 10k. ITs only a matter of time then POP. I wanna talk some sense into lance and save the owner some money. Cuz joe jiggs doesnt know the specifics he can just build the motor.

WOW dude, …that explains the whole “couldnt care less” thing, i’ve seen on sites where they said that didnt make sense, and i believed it, but now i see how it makes sense, saving this picture

awesome, shit pos rep too

cant tell if you’re completely pulling my leg or not :lmao :lmao

The Blueprint cams I have are for midrange power, which is why my mid range power is SICK as opposed to gaining ~30whp top end, which isn’t too bad considering how mild the cams are.
If I keep the car, which is a great possibility after talking to my dad this weekend about winter plans, I’m going to have one nasty motor next year, and could quite possibly have a good priced, strong, motor for you built by GL Motorsports. lol

Dkid, once again thinking you know everything. Don’t make assumptions about other people’s builds. We are waiting for a few parts, and the motor will be done. I assure you the oil pump will support 10k no problem, much less the owner’s goal. We’ll have you come over and street tune it on chrome and talk some sense into me once its done, then we’ll let you get back to Walgreen’s.

:rofl I don’t think it’s supporting 10k.

10k your an idiot. joe jiggs told me the the whole build. Your waiting on parts you need like the k24 tensioner. Joe jiggs said he doesnt even know if the oil pump is in working condition and he said you guys didnt replace the timing chain? Its like an 80 dollar part. If you rev it to 8500rpm it will blow up much sooner than if you revved to 7800.

Who cares, let them go. If it blows up, it blows up.

You know nothing about it, so why act like you do? Call me an idiot? OK Dtard, I, like many others have no respect for you so that’s fine. The oil pump being used has seen 10k with no issues, there isn’t a debate. And again, you have no idea what’s being replaced or not being replaced. Thanks for your opinions, these are my final words on the matter. Jealousy sucks.

This thread delivers…So much speculation

ik right

when its done just two step and see what it did

hit some anti lag and your good.

yo dkid you have a picture of the wheels? Are they ones that look like the EP Type R wheels except they’re silver 16’s?

Like these:http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h257/fatbob0154/08w16-s5p.jpg

Those are hot, I’d rather rock those than my white slips but they’re probably pretty heavy in comparison.
