WRX was a dedicated autox car. When the tranny exploded I figured it was time to move on. Fixed her, sold her…then learned of this $8k tax credit for first time home buyers. I capitalized. My $8k tax credit at work:
Built in 2006
Built 4G63-T
Big 16g turbo
Burns E85 w/ meth injection
Sprint car steering rack
1" square tube frame chasis
Nos system (no bottle)
Yamaha motorcycle racing shocks/springs
1g DSM drivetrain (axles/brakes/etc)
Line-lock (for burnout)
2 step “launch control” (hole shot, autox start)
I’ve only had it one day and haven’t even driven it yet, but the numbers I was told are as follows:
335hp
~1600lbs
0-60 in 2.8s
60-0 in ~75ft
sustained 1.3LGs
60ft: 1.3s with MT’s
1/8th mi: 6.8s @ 104mph
First autox is Sunday before super bowl (Whitehouse airfield, buccanneer region SCCA).
First drag event is in three weeks @ SGMP Cecil, GA.
Looks kinda ghetto. I like how the builder said they have yet to drive it but posted up its 0-60 lat g’s and what not already?
I would love to take a R6-R1 and make a custom sandrail/buggy thing. basicly a tube chassis, single seat full cage with custom arms up front with atv long travel shocks, and a simple chain drive rear end setup with a simple spool hub to bolt the cv’s to and a sprocket, then some hubs and custom arms out back too. It should be easy and rather cheap too.
Now my question is this, say I have a motorcycle frame and VIN with a clear title, and mounted it somewhere on this rig could it still be “road legal”. In my simplistic head it would be just a few steps past a “chopper”, a Trike, or a goldwing trike thing, you know what I am saying? Aslong as it has good tires, brakes lights horn signals mirrors, that they inspect for at a motorcycle inspection, i dont see why it wouldnt be ok.
thats got to be fun forsure… Ive driven 250cc shifter karts before, you better be on your game… Those things are such an handful, dont really know how fast your going until you try to slow down lol… I cant imagine how that thing would be to drive
