4's STI > fourth gen Mustang GT

Go easy on me as this is my first time posting in the kill section.

Was out doing some test runs and logging when I ran into a fourth-gen Mustang GT (1999+ body style that I assume was stock, possible exhaust). Since I just fixed my exhaust leak I decided to see if he wanted to play. Followed him for a short bit through town and he kept blipping his throttle, so I assumed he knew I wanted to run.

Got outside of town where it changes from 30 to 55 and he hit it. Blind corners so I just tucked in behind him at first. Then he made a left on a side street that heads into XXX with a really long flat straight. He hit it again while I was behind at about 30mph out of the corner. 2nd - 5th I walked right past him from behind and put about 2 cars to about 110mph.

Threw him a , but he ignored me and turned the opposite direction at the end of the street.

I just looked up their info and I guess it isnt too impressive since they run about 260hp /300ftlbs stock and trap 100mph in the quarter. I had never run a Mustang GT though. All in good fun.

Whats an 8th gen? lol sounds like the 2050 Camaro

First time I’ve ever heard the term “eighth-gen” Mustang…regardless, nice kill.

:fale:

ah crap… edmunds.com said it was an 8th gen… it was a 4th gen per the wiki link posted (1999+ body style)… updated first post d’oh

1st gen 1965-1970
2nd gen 71-73
II - 74-78
Fox - 79-93
SN95 - 94-98
New Edge - 99-04
S197 - 05- present

or at least thats how i always knew them

Nice…however there is a typo in there when they state John Oros was the Mustang designer in '64, the correct name is Joe Oros.

I’d just like to throw it out there that I met Joe Oros about 6 years ago when he was honored at my alma matar, the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he was a graduate from back in 1939. That’s right, I shook hands with the man who drew up the design of the original Mustang:)

I guess I’ll be the first to say it. Good kill.

Granted, it’s not the exact same word…

Thanks Mike! Ill be keeping an eye on these gaskets for a bit to make sure they stay sealed, but still plan to come see you for a retune soon!

Cant win with you guys;)

LOL oops.

Yea I hope you sorted your gasket issue this time, but we aren’t impressed with fitment on that header so I definitely don’t think it’s anything you’re doing wrong on the install.
