This area has always been behind. What do you want from a generally domestic driving low income region. To this day i am amazed that there is a local Honda scene period. California quality cars are built by those with California quality incomes. Id be rolling around with Mugen everything magazine cover car too if i was living in the bay area making 200k doing IT work. Most around here simply dont have the means for all out builds. That doesnt mean you cant have fun or be a Honda enthusiast.

Im not even just talking about Cali! Plus I dont think all the guys or tuners make 200k doing it. Sh!t I know I dont make 200k doing it. Its just people, tuners down here are different and beleive in different parts, quality, etc… I can probably count on my hand how many guys have some good all around cars here, not just Honda’s. I have seen Mugen, Spoon, J’s, etc… cars that are from NY on car covers as well, and not just Cali. Just face it some tuners around here dont care about all around goodnes! Better off having a 400hp boosted rust bucket with 5-6g’s in a engine build and nothing else

As for the regional differences, of course NY is behind…always has been.
It’s tough to have showroom clean, quality built cars in NYS. The roads are decent in places, (PA is worse) but we have all sorts of weather also to contend with and the fact that we have the winters we do affects that too as far as cosmetics.
As much as it doesn’t seem like a likely theory, the weather and income of a region I think greatly affect the quality of cars.
Well if you really look at it we only drive our cars probably for about 5-6 months, maybe 7 if we are lucky. I think the guys like in Florida, Cali, Texas obviously were weather is almost good all year around have to keep up on there cars more than we do! Sh!t for 6 months we can tinker, tweek and do what not to them, while them guys drive them all year around! Talking about money and income. I would rather save up money than spend it on something cheap and less quality! We all work and some of us do have better jobs than others and can afford the top nothc parts, where is others obviously cant! But as I stated one can save up and not settle for less
