#49 is awesome.
Yes if you take the 10k price difference and spend it in mods on the GT, it’ll be faster for the same money
nice
- The oil pan holds 8.8 qts of oil.
Really? That’s crazy…
Half the list are things everyone else has been doing forever which is why GM has not been in the game. Props to them for getting this vehicle right, I hope they keep it around.
I AM SO GLAD I KNOW THIS NOW ABOUT THE G8
and so do alot of german cars…
Raced a GT at NYI this summer, he had intake/cat-back and ran 13.5
Then again, as an example of what you could do: this month’s GM High Tech Performance has an article with a twin-turbo GT and added New Era’s turbo cam to it - resulting in 600+ HP. Not bad for a 4-door family hauler.
That list sucks.
wooowwwwwwww! my 94 jetta had a bunch of those features! not only that, but it did that thing with the windows. you hold the key in the door to unlock, they all went down and the sunroof opened. holding it in lock rolled all of em up and sunroof closed. also, not being able to charge your phone when the car is off? wtf
HATEHATEHATEHATE
Guys, this was not a “Hey everyone look at all the great stuff the G8 can do.” list.
It was a list for G8 owners saying “Hey, heres a bunch of stuff you may have missed.”
STFU. I don’t give a shit what other car does these things. It’s irrelevant.
Yea but what we are saying is this is common features your current car probably has, and isn’t really specific per car so its not a big deal…
Are you saying G8 owners are oblivious and that I shouldn’t risk driving anywhere near them?
It is completely relevant, why should we praise a manufacturer for catching up to 99% other cars on the market. None of them are cool or interesting features.
“Oh my god the heated seats shut off when you shut the car off, amazing!”
:mamoru:
The list is pretty ridiculous. Half of the things every new car has. The other half, I would never want on a car.
I think the G8 is neat, but still just a car for people who can’t afford other sport sedans.
Interesting list, I learned a few things. I wasnt aware of the trunk hook for the spare tire panel, nor was I aware of the ability to play CD information on regular CD’s, that was always a big gripe!
That might be me, I have the metallic grey one, and I think I might have raced you. I remember you were there that night I was there with an orange one with a tune and intake and a stock black one. Mine also has a tune as well, and it ran low 13’s, consistent 13.2-3’s that night.
Explain this please. What other sport sedans are out there that perform like the G8 for $30k or less? Other than a used M5 with >100k miles? I bought mine for $20k with 14k miles on it, it was pretty much like new upon delivery, and I really cant complain with it. Especially after the tune/intake/exhaust :eekdance:
A DOMESTIC…MUST HATE!
Uhh…so you’re saying the G8 is pretty cheap and performs within it’s price range? Sounds exactly like what I said?
When someone isn’t successful enough in life to buy an RS4 or M3/5 when they’re an adult, they get a G8.
Well I took it like you were saying “someone who cant afford a real sport sedan”, perhaps I just misunderstood you and thought you were hating lol. I’ve heard that hate is more rampant on here than it is on Roclife
Personally, Im fine not being wealthy enough to afford a German sedan. Only thing you get with those over the G8 is a nicer interior (which I myself could care less about, just more shit to break haha), a touch more power, and handling better but not enough to notice on the street where these are driven 99% of the time.
I’m typically a pretty hateful person on here.
You’d definitely notice the differences all around.
We should get a list of a similiarly priced VW or Audi sedan prices.
