OK, so I was able to buy a set of brand new seats, front and rear, from a 2010 Camaro.
These are from the LS/LT series and are cloth, not leather.
Since the stock seats from a 69 Camaro offer not much in support and comfort, I thought I’d change it up for a while. SCAP in Grand Island is building a custom 2010 Camaro for SEMA next month and was installing a custom interior into their car and offererd these to me.
(No, the original interior is NOT for sale. Just tucking it away for a little while.
The new interior will need some mods to fit like seat brackets, then I will have custom door panels and console done to match the interior. The rear seat is also 6 inches narrower that stock, but is a fold down tup: , so rear arm rest panels will be created to match.
I also have the new seatbelts, but am debating if those will fit into the upgrades.
Here’s what I got so far in pics from my iPhone. The seat will recline more, the lumbar is power and the seat was tilted forward in the pics.
Slight bit higher, since the headrest is vertical and is adjustable. But the seats are prety close in size. Only issue is console thickness betweek seats and I was thinking of changing that out for a while.
Very cool! Those high back headrests remind me of what they did with the Fox Mustangs from 87-89…then in 90-93 they went low profile with them and it really cleaned things up. If you’re doing this much conversion work, maybe take a look at what you can do to cut those down. In the initial pic they seem a bit big…
glad you did it Joe…will be nice when they are in, plus keeping you more supported while doing big block hairy burnouts (ask me how i know lol)…and that center console needs to go anyway…is it even fastened? lol.
You don’t even know how to do burnouts. You owned Mustangs, remember?
I still want a center console, but something slimmer and more modern looking. Might scour a few yards to see if there are any decent ones or will just have a custom one made.
