It was out of a 86-89 Z/28. Not honestly sure. Wasn’t going to be picky since manual steering in the Camaro sucked. And if my wife might occasionally take it for a spin, I want her to be able to handle it. As for power loss, the motor will be making enought hp that it isn’t a concern.
