7.3L Turbo Questions

I suck at the internet I can’t get the info I’m looking for.
I got a 1997 7.3L turbo motor / trans.
Basically looking for turbo specs.
T4 flanged?
Trim?
I do believe its a 80mm

can we assume its from a ford?

what I found on ebay shows its not flanged per any standard (t3/t4). the a/r rations should be stamped on it. it does not look conducive for a custom set up if thats what you are going for

eek, looks like they use a ‘pedestal’ to hold the wastegate solenoid and maybe the oil fittings? weird. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-7-3-POWERSTROKE-TURBO-DIESEL-PEDESTAL-TP38-NEW-OEM_W0QQitemZ310139659894QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4835c3a676&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116

Edit: noob double post

IIRC my 95 powerstroke used a Garrett 38mm with a 1.06 housing. No wastegate, but a back puressure valve built into the turbo, only used to help with startup. Mine was not intercooled, but I know that International started using and I/C, I believe in 97. There is a shop on/near Walden that knows these things inside/out. I’ll try and dig up the name.

Thankfully I never had to remove the turbo, so I don’t know about the flanges.

^Truth. It’s the heaviest motor EVER!

I don’t know much about the Turbo, But I do know it’s a complete motherfucker to change the DP. My buddy had a Powerstroke. That entire engine was nothing but a PITA to work on. I’ll take my Cummins anyday.
