88 Fireo potential?

My friend had 2, an 86 5-speed, and an 88 V6 5-speed. The 4 cyl. was an absolute piece, and I know those engines had quite the tendency to jump on fire. The V6 car was in good shape, and was moderately quick.

I’m all about an MR car, but not sure if I’m exactly sure about a Fiero.

Fuck it and put a small block in it, no wire messes to worry about.

does anyone have any pictures of a small block shoved into one of these? What transmission is used?

I believe people just use an adapter plate and the getrag… not 100% sure though

LS1 swap

thats what my friend dave has … ls6 with the getrag … he was the first in the country with the setup

did he, by any chance, do a write up on it? as far as parts needed and steps he took? I’d be interested to see it.

however, it’s got to be a HUGE pain in the ass to perform maintenance on the thing. Bet it hauls ass though

yeah … everything is documented … almost everything was/is a 1 off part … including the fact you cannot run a traditional water pump … there is an inline marine unit it there …

V-8 Archie had his hands into alot of the car … right now he just finished up machineing brackets for a retro fit of C-4 brakes on the car …

Well, 4 plugs would be easy as hell to get at. The other 4, uh, probably not so much. Takes about 2 minutes to remove the 4 bolts to take off the rear deck lid though and then you can lay right on top of the motor and reach down to the rear plugs. Looking at the various pics I’ve seen of LSx motors it looks like about as much room as on my 2.8 V6.

No way I’d tackle a V8 swap without one of his kits. Archie is THE man when it comes to V8 swaps and backs up his kits with great support.

But if you’re honestly thinking about doing an LSx swap, with all that money involved, I’d find a southern car that hasn’t seen salt.

And damn, didn’t know Archie had a kit now to convert the 6 speed G6 trans into a Fiero.

well, finally got some pics of the car. Not the greatest (stupid cell phone) but you get the idea. The thing in dirty and the paint has a few minor blemishes on the rear bumper (peeling clearcoat), but all in all… not too bad. Wish I could of got a better picture of the interior… it’s just about spotless.

I saw this over @ the fiero message board. Wish I had the cash to do something like this. It’s amazing what they’ve done to it. Added a wide body, chopped the roof, custom hood and C6 headlights.

almost looks like a 240 had sex with a lambo. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

I LOVE the ducktail… really compliments the car

give it to me!

Heh… busted by fiero.nl’s no hotlinking rule.

pwned lol

despite it sitting outside, the paint actually doesn’t look that bad (from what i can see). looks to have potential depending on the condition of the underbody. keep the pictures coming!

the custom one looks AMAZING from the back, and you were right about the ducktail. however, the front bumper cover looks like it came off a Dodge Shelby Charger from the 80s or w/e they were called…(no offense to enthusiasts:sword:)
