So…my new spring/summer/fall DD for rainy days (tires that are on the Z wheels suck in rain) is a '91 Infiniti M30. Its a florida car with ZERO rust anywhere, and the only body flaws are 2 small dings you can’t even notice unless you’re looking for them. The floors and frame are clean enough to eat off of!
So basically, its a typical M30 in pearl white, VG30E automatic as they all are (may swap it to a 5spd), with 160k on it…it needs rack bushings (i have them) and a couple of the injectors are stuck open (have new injectors also)
Overall its a pretty nice car, adjustable suspension seems to work and its pretty clean.
Also has an Alpine headunit and speakers, but whatever about that. lol
SO, my first thing (distracting me from the Zs…) will be the rack bushings, injectors, and cleaning it up.
my dad had one of these, except his was all pearl white not the two tone, and no woodgrain. was a pretty nice car for what it was, although the transmission would have problems. his went twice. first time he lost reverse, pretty much lost everything the second time. only had 120k when he got rid of it.
Yeah, the old (early 90s and older) Nissan RWD Automatics weren’t the greatest, turbo Z31s shred them to pieces. lol I’m probably going to swap a 5 speed into this car, all the Z31 parts work just need a custom driveshaft.
These cars (F31 chassis, Infiniti M30/Nissan Leopard) literally share the same exact platform as the R31 Skyline. A R31 front crossmember can be bolted right in, as can an S13 crossmember…giving many easy options for engine swaps. lol
