I’m talking about BJJ, not boxing.

So am I. Matt Riddle was a wrestler through out high school and college. He adapted BJJ into his training and has become quite a fighter in his career. Shannon Miller, yes he is a boxer. Ryan Clark is a purple belt in BJJ. I haven’t actually seen the guy compete but from what i’ve been told by some of the guys that train with him, he’s very good.

Riddle grew up here, he didn’t come here to train. I’m sure he is long gone from this area now that he has a win in the UFC and some sort of contract (guessing)

They just opened up a Ken Shamrock Lions Den MMA training place around the corner from my house. I like to watch MMA, i dont really want to learn it though.

He started around here. He’s in Tempe, Arizona training now. I know this isn’t an area where many people come through to train often. We do get pro’s that come in and do seminars. There are good studios in this area that can bring guys to the next level around here.

I like watching MMA/UFC/Pride, i started to get into it and two months later fucked my knee up bad and had to have surgery. So I wont be doing any form of MMA for awhile, b/c one good shin kick to my leg and im done lol. But i am gonna get back into boxing again, lot of fun!

Matt Hamill “the hammer” was at capital container in albany picking up drums with some guys last time i was there, they were setting up some kind of training ring with 55 gallon drums.

Charles Ferrara is a blackbelt in Judo and a second degree blackbelt in Japanese Jiujitsu. He also has a brown in Brazilian Jiujitsu. My instructor is a 3rd degree blackbelt in American Kenpo and a 2nd degree blackbelt in Shatokan Karate(recieved his honors from 9th degree black belt Mike Campos). There are ALOT of top guys in the upstate/central NY area. Just because you haven’t heard about them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

word, and i used to train in kenpo i know a few things  im not a ufc fighter tho =/

Mike is a great fighter and the guy he lost to was also ok…the fight went all three rounds and the guy only won cause he took mike down and laid on him…he couldnt pass his guard and wasnt effective at all…but what are ya gonna do a loss is a loss

So the point of this thread was to let everyone know you train mma? :stfu

:catfight

I didnt make the thread i could care less who knows

“Try a real sport like mine”

Just a reg. modest mouse arent you?

I was indicating that was the sport that im into…never hurts to try new things…im sorry and ii came off cocky

I train a bit down in FL. friend is big into it, shows me new stuff and makes my fighting style better. somthing I’d definitly love to really get into.

the sport is getting really popular and if you wanna really get into fighting its pretty hard

I don’t really care so much about getting to any real fights, just train and get better…that’s all
