Good:
Still starts every time
4x4 works
Tires are still decent
Nice wheels
100% new front brakes (rotors, calipers, pads, short hard lines) - not even 1 mile on them
Bedliner

Bad:
Whole thing is as rusty as you’d expect (body mostly patched up with fiberglass and some aluminum)
Frame was patched/plated a few years ago
Motor is running poorly, suspect it needs a head gasket
Inspection ran out last month
Needs some other small work (e-brake cable, probably a muffler)

I bought this a couple months ago to handle some projects around my house, put a couple hundred miles on it, and thought I was going to get it through inspection with the new brakes and some body patches. After I got the front brakes on but before I could even finish bleeding them and install the e-brake cable, the motor starting sputtering. It may have been going bad and then sitting around waiting for me to do the brakes just revealed the problem to me, I don’t know. My best guess is a head gasket, but it’s just not worth it to me to deal with any more so I’m selling it as-is. Forums suggest it could also be an issue with the timing chain wearing through a spot on the aluminum chain cover (results in bad HG-like symptoms), but again, not worth my time so I’m just moving on.

I would recommend against driving it home in case the HG is in fact bad but it will definitely drive away so that’s up to you.

Bottom line: It’s rough and needs TLC or someone who just wants the drivetrain and brake parts. Not interested in parting it out at this time.

Actually I have 2. :eek3: One in street trim and one is slammed/caged. Had the street one for about 6 years and the caged one for about 3. Parts availability has become a problem - the street one is currently down because of a crazy cam bearing that I’ll need to get from across the pond.

At this point I’ve got a chunk of money in the LeCars because I’ve had them long enough to amass a pretty good spare parts collection, including some rare wheels. I’d be inclined to sell the whole lot before I let just one of them go, but if you are serious just send me a PM and we’ll save this thread for the Toyota (unless you are wanting a 3-for-1 deal, ha).
