Hey i have a 96 taurus wagon which needs a vss. Now i read around that its a sensor, online there is an actual vss( costs about 80). At advance auto it comes in two different pieces, one on the speedometer end and one that connects to the tranny( 40 bucks for both). Who should i go off of in determining which one i need( internet, or advance auto)? I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to diagnose which one i need, without physically taking it apart. I cant get it inspected with no speedometer, no odometer, and no trip meter… If you know how to put one in thatd be cool to know too. Any help or information is appreciated. and if this is in the wrong place, moderators please move it if you can.
