98 Mustang GT Goes Down

Ran a real clean 98 GT…bs’d with the driver for a second before the light went green and we went for it. Said he had 3.73s, intake, exhaust, and bolt-ons.

Beat him pretty easily, put a few lenghts on him by 70mph and let off. With my freshly mounted ET streets I really killed him out of the hole. I didn’t spray him, though my finger was on the trigger and I was ready to pull in case he was understating his mods.

If dude is on here, props on a fun run, plus your car is real clean and sounds great.

Nice kill.

Nice kill.

Thanks!

98 GT’s are kinda slow but good kill

hate those 4.6

98 GT’s are kinda slow but good kill

Agreed, but it was just nice to get some stoplight derby with something half way worthwhile. I never get any action like this.

I’d imagine his car probably goes mid-high 14s (bolt-ons, gears, 5speed…).

Since when is a 14sec car halfway worthwhile? Maybe in the 1980s.

It is halfway worthwhile. Seeing as 15’s and 16’s are not too rare for some of our fellow automotive enthusiasts.

I have actually raced a newer GT in my girls ecotec cavi and hung right in there.

nice kill!

:burnout:

Now get rid of said “nitrous button” and get a window switch!! :greddy:

And a 4.6 bolt on would be worthwhile for me… Closest thing I find to race in kittanning are non-turbo lasers, sohc stock civics, non-turbo neons, and a couple of 3.4L f-buckets.

Don’t “Rally WRX”'s run 14s stock?

Now get rid of said “nitrous button” and get a window switch!!

My “nitrous button” is an arming switch that activates the system. Nitrous isn’t injected until the WOT sensor tapped into my TPS sensor detects that the car is is WOT. I don’t want or need a window switch since I spray from off-idle until my shiftpoint…but thanks.

I havent seen a 96-98 GT in a long while, Seems rarer than the 5.0’s lately.
See a ass load of sixers though.

Right… stock.

So 14 sec. is halfway worthwhile because a lot of ‘fellow enthusiasts’ run 15s 16s? That’s not halfway worthwhiile, that’s just sad.

Also, those that love jumping to conclusions should probaby know that I find my car painfully slow. And according to your logic it’s more than halfway worthwhile. I guess the definition of fast is quite relative. I just figured this board would have a slightly higher definition of ‘fast’. Then again, after driving a 625whp Ford GT on a race track and messing around behind the wheel of a 1000+whp Twin Turbo (Twin GT35Rs) Ford GT has drastically altered my perception of ‘fast’. But either way, I still can’t believe people are standing up for 14sec cars.

That’s great, I messed around with a 500Hp / 2000 Tq truck for a
year. Do i get a prize also ?

14 second race story > your story

People with “slow” cars shouldn’t talk shit to people with faster cars. Arrogance is annoying at best, it’s even worse when the arrogant person has nothing to back it up with.

Not everyone on here has Ford GTs and shit.

So we have to tell stories about 14 second cars cus that’s what some of us have.

I’ll tell stories all day about my 16second Cavalier. But if I can walk a (Stock) Stang in it then fuck it, I’ll tell the story. Who gives a shit what we’re standing up for?
