MKV GLIs/GTIs don’t have much performance
especially ones that are slammed, with 195s on 18x9inch rims
if they take a turn with any significant speed theyre going to rub all over the place

the rule is (iirc anyway) in germany you couldn’t have the tread sticking out past the fenders, so the stretch came to power. those rs’s inspire me; my shit is so dusty I don’t want to have to clean my wheels all the time, but I want something baller. may start looking for some rs’s to black when I get sick of my contours. sold my rsII’s monday

Yep, a mild stretch will significantly stiffen up the sidewall and force the tire to deflect less causing more predictable turn in and cause the car to “set” for the corner quicker. It’s much easier to knock a tire of a bead when it is significantly to large, like when people stuff 275’s onto a 7" wheel to run in a “stock” class.
