I was going to suggest a more archaic “Lotus”…
I am sure there are quality “non kit” versions out there, just the first one I found.

buy the Porsche and get a cheap car to drive when its really bad, drive the 996 on all the decent days in the winter
This says “vegan fresh” to me.

yes.
could you drive a 996TT in Buffalo year round?
this made me lol
thnx dan
996tt
seems to me that car would be WAY funner than the exige.
You will look like a fggt in that gti/golf/fggt-mobile
Noble is dope
996
Think of the awesome looks he’d get from all the tools that worship Porsches and won’t even drive them in the rain. SHit, that alone makes it worth it.
Option A
996TT
Side note this is the same debate I am having. But if I go one car it will prob be a newer M5 or a new 335i if i talk myself into a wise economical decision.
You will get around fine in the winter with some snows on a 996, make sure you get snows though. You will not go anywhere in the snow on any kind of performance tire. You know you want to ball out with the 996.
i got passed by a lime green Exige last night … tried to run him he would not have it … hot cars
996tt… buy it and dont be a fggt about driving it in the winter
that 996 will be great in the snow for sure - sounds like you’ve been getting advice from 91mr2.
get the 996 and a winter car, fuck the exige
edit: golf’s are gay
One thing I can guarantee is if you end up with nice summer ride and some POS golf for the other 75% of the year Marcus and Violator will probably come back to NYSpeed just to give you shit for all the times you ragged on Marcus for his Viper/Geo combo.
Please don’t be that guy.
If you don’t mind the serious depreciation hit you’re going to take buying a 50k 996 and driving it in the salt then do it. With snows I’m sure it would be fine for Buffalo winters and as stated before the car was designed to be driven in winter. Those 2 or 3 days a year when you couldn’t drive it because of a massive storm are going to have travel bans anyway.
What won’t hold up, no matter how well the car does, is it’s resale value. The typical 996 buyer is not going to want to even look at a 996 that has been year round driven in WNY, and as soon as they do look at it that fact is going to be quickly apparent.
996tt would be a sweet winter beater, having to deal with a boring dd is exactly that: boring.
true, and you know you wont be holding on to this for decades or anything
I would love an AWD STI or EVO to just beat the hell out of year round. Winter and summer driftng. Lol
+1 lol reminds me of the mtech lip thread on the e30 site
