It is electronic dance music, of the Trance variety. They often have vocals in their music, so it is not ALL synthesized. They are one of the top three DJ’s in the world. And more than that, they are producers. They dont just mix and spin, they actually produce everything they spin. A&B also went by the name Oceanlab.
As far as “similar” artists, it is difficult to nail down, mainly because other DJ’s spin such a wide variety of stuff (as they dont write their own), where A&B is narrower in their tastes. Most of the other top DJ’s spin A&B’s stuff. You will frequently hear A&B tunes from Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Infected Mushroom, & Marcus Schulz to name a few. (they also work with them occasionally to put together some of the sickest tracks to see the light of day…or night for that matter. heh)
First three songs are Air For Life, one of the sickest trance tracks ever produced. You cannot grasp this song until you hear it in a club scene. The third one is much better quality, but just music.

hmm maybe. I haven’t been up to the Guv since Labour of Love, and before that its been almost a year. Kinda feel like I’m getting a bit old for those shenanigans, but we will see.
Johan Gielen is spinning the same night over at the Docks along with a ton of other DJs for Destiny’s party, but Destiny parties are often filled with the underage raver crowd, which I’m not sure if thats better or worse than the Guv sketchballs.
Did anybody ever eat at that restaurant thats in a ship right across the street from guv? I walk by it every time but have never been inside. Any good?

$15 canadian before midnight, $20 after. andy, this is a regular club night for the guvernment. headliners for $15 is the norm.

$15-$20 is nothing…i’m use to paying $60+ for tiesto lol…i might have to seriously consider this…

A very important note:
Many of you guys just enter the Guv main room and thats fine, yo can get there whenever you want.
My group ALWAYS enters The Drink entrance (VIP) upstairs. That way, at 12:00, we are able to go anywhere in the club and have access to Guv, as well as going back upstairs to The Drink. This is GREAT for getting away from the main crowd and being able to chill out upstairs for a short. However, you MUST be at the club no later than 10:00 or so to get in the line with us! Its a high-risk thing getting in The Drink line much later than 10 for any BIG headliner like A&B.
