Advice on purchasing a Motorcycle battery

Simple Question, but where is a good place locally to purchase a battery?
I’m not interested in getting ripped off, so I figured I would ask around.

it depends what you want really.

Ebay isnt bad for an optima: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Optima-Redtop-78-Battery-8078-109-New-Mfg-8-08_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1171Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem220387173747QQitemZ220387173747QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

about 50 less then autozone after shipping

Thanks. I meant motorcycle batteries. I should have specified as I know a lot of people use the “New Posts” link and don’t pay much attention to the sub-forum.

Sears Die Hard has always been my first choice. I think every one I’ve bought has outlasted the car I put it in.

They didn’t have one in stock for the GTO, so after a bunch of reading online I went with a Napa Gold because they’re rated really well too.

EDIT: Damn you motorcycle forum showing up in new posts.

walmart.

Really, cause that’s one place I wouldn’t have thought of. I’ll check it out, thanks.

yup… i got my 954rr battery from there, autozone/pepboys carries them too… seriously, how long do u need it to last, how many years are you going to own the sv for? ya know?

I would expect about 2 years out of a battery and I might see about moving into something new next season so I see your point.

I basically didn’t want to overpay at a place like Berts or (godforbid) Harley…

Yea, go to a place that sells in volume, or even ebay.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=6560514 no effin way… my boy will have that… and god forbid my first is a girl, i’ll paint it pink.

LOL did you see that OT thread about juicing the voltage up on these things and ripping around at break-neck speed? Could you imagine?..

yes… itd be like graduating from a rebel 250 to a 600rr

Yuasa makes the best battery for motorcycles, they are expensive but i heard they are worth every penny.

Idk man, a guy I used to work with had those electric dirtbikes for his kids and those things moved…

/ot

btw, your battery should be 30-40 id imagine from walmart if they have one in stock

just bring your old battery with you to figure out the right size. (id go to the super walmart too)

Ya, I’ll just bring it into Walmart and scoop one there. I’m in no real hurry lately anyway with the way the weather is going. :frowning:

I told you to go to walmart when it dies at timmy ho’s. They have the ones you pour the acid in, put on a charger and your all set. I have a walmart battery in my bike now and it sat all winter long and its still fine.
If you want to borrow my charger, call me.

what about a gel cell motorcycle battery? my gramps has had one in his BMW bike forever… where could i find one?
