Air-powered car?

Do you run around at 70mph on the highway?:stuck_out_tongue:
(Small tanks are easy to build very strong too.)

heh, there are already a handful of cars on this forum that seem to run on hot air. This is not new technology, apparently.

:rimshot:

x2.

the majority of our power is generated from coal-fired plants, and that is expected to increase in the years to come with the decline of nuclear generation. if we could clean that up that would be great. too much $$$ involved in that though :frowning:

200 miles/tank isnt too bad. great DD for around town

dammit i thought if this idea like 2 yrs ago joking around about how it would be amazing to build a car that moved useing pressurized air, and how light/nimble it could be and fastā€¦it was this huge joke: and now someone made itā€¦i couldda patented that friggen idea and been rich right now. meh, its cool anyhow

BTW - PROPANE/NATURAL GAS TANKS ARE 20X STRONGER THAN GAS TANKS

I was going to convert my car to natural gas cause the octane reading is similar to 112oct gasolineā€¦ which means CHEAP CHEAP RACE FUEL, CRANK UP THE BOOST FUKKAS

isnt there a higher ā€œboomā€ factor for lets say a propane tank in your trunk??? i dont know how comfortable i would feel with a bog ole tank of compressed explossive gas ridding in my trunk

A regenerating system would be key on one of these. The compressor may need to be heavy to make 4500psi, but it would also move engineers to build smaller, more lightweight but powerful compressors. Once all of that is done the compressor could be used just like an alternator and power a battery. When the car moves the wheels could turn something to create power and run to the battery.

This is definitely something good for the years ahead
