Reports that Ny Yankees pitcher Cory Lidel might have been the owner of the aircraft
if i see this on a bumper sticker i am gonna be real pissed.

They are reporting a member of the ny yankee orginization was on board
well if someone crashed into my living room with a plane and killed me, i would rather it was a famous person, and not someone like rubicant or joe blow.
at least these people will be famous.

NEW YORK – A small plane piloted by New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle crashed into a 50-story condominium tower Wednesday on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, raining flaming debris onto the sidewalks below and rattling New Yorkers’ nerves five years after the Sept. 11 attack.
Lidle died in the crash.
The twin-engine plane came through a hazy, cloudy sky and hit the 20th floor of The Belaire – a red-brick tower overlooking the East River, about five miles from the World Trade Center – with a loud bang, touching off a raging fire that cast a pillar of black smoke over the city and sent flames shooting from four windows on two adjoining floors.

That espn article has alot of wrong info…it hit the 39th floor or so and it was a single engined plane…among other inaccuracies.
Well it was a real nice and fast aircraft, 500,000 worth, dam.
just listened to the mayor’s press conference
he said only 2 died the student pilot and the instructor, no one in the bldg.
no names confirmed until next of kin is notified, but reports say lidle’s passport was found at the scene…
that’s why you never fly with famous people
